I had a prime location at this year’s London Marathon, right at the finish line, taking photos of some 8,000 plus runners as they completed this most grueling of races.
The London marathon is my latest assignment for MarathonFoto; other races have included the Berlin marathon as well as Liverpool events, such as the women’s 10k and Santa Dash.
I’ve worked with Marathon Foto for around four years and during this time we’ve taken over 50,000 photos at a range of different events. Physically the assignments can be very demanding. I was snapping non-stop for over six hours at this year’s London Marathon. Technically, the challenge is to make sure that every shot of every runner who passes is of a consistently high standard.
I love working at the London Marathon – the atmosphere is fantastic and the mix of professional athletes, fun runners and celebs is totally unique.
As MarathonFoto works to expand it’s portfolio of events in the UK and Europe, I hope that this winning collaboration continues down the track.

"David is an amazing Liverpool based photographer. Not just in his professionalism and demeanour, but in his clear understanding of how to create the best images for clients. We worked together on a number of commercial projects and it was quality both in terms of content and prompt delivery of files every time. Absolutely no problem recommending him, he is a true pro at what he does !"
